QEW UN Working Group 2020 Side Event, July 15 (online)
Every year, since 2017, the Quaker Earthcare Witness United Nations Working Group has convened a Side Event during the United Nations High Level Political Forum for Sustainable Development.
These side events have been collaborative efforts in recognition of the United Nations International Decade for People of African Descent (2015 – 2024) and, more recently, the International Decade for Action on Water for Sustainable Development (2018-2028).
For this year’s Forum, the QEW UN Working Group will be convening this side event online.
Jack Bradin (Palm Beach Meeting) and Beverly Ward (Tampa Meeting), who are currently serving as co-clerks of the QEW Working Group, encourage Friends to attend!
The event will include panel presentations and participant discussion on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, with special attention given to Sustainable Development Goal 6: Clean Water and Sanitation. This will include:
- Review of Goal 6
- Review of actions during the decade for people of African descent
- Impacts of the novel corona virus on people of African descent
- Recommendations to achieve the shared goals of “peace, dignity and equality on a healthy planet.”
You are invited!
