Friends Reckoning with Racism

About 50 Friends attended the FCNL workshop “Friends Reckoning with Racism, Justice Reform, and Election Integrity” at the SEYM Gathering, sponsored by the SEYM Peace and Social Concerns Committee.

FCNL Staff members presented the many ways the historical foundations of white supremacy and systemic racism find modern manifestation in policies on policing, voter suppression, and the broader justice system. We also discussed FCNL and F/friends labor to dismantle these systems through education and advocacy with attention to how we might act in partnership and solidarity with impacted communities.

The Peace and Social Concerns Committee would like to see these FCNL resources (scroll down below) widely distributed among Friends:

  • video of the workshop
  • Kameryn Point’s slides for the workshop: download here>
  • links sent out in the chat and referenced throughout the workshop
