Youth & Young Adult Coordinator Back on the Job

SEYM’s Youth and Young Adult Coordinator, Kody Hersh (he/they) is back to work following an extended leave of absence. The leave, which started in August 2020, allowed for a pause in Kody’s three-year term during a time when COVID prevented our holding in-person events.

The first in-person event for youth and families will be a beach retreat day on Sunday, July 25, at Anastasia State Park. Families can also look ahead to Half-Yearly Meeting, an all-ages long weekend at beautiful Wekiwa State Park (Nov 25-28). And for young adults (18-35), we’ll be bringing back monthly online dinner+discussion events, and exploring the possibility of a weekend retreat later in the year.

As things continue to open up, Kody is also looking forward to getting back on the road visiting SEYM meetings and worship groups.

He’d love to talk with your meeting about beginning, re-starting, or strengthening a youth religious education program, how to do effective outreach to youth, young adults, and families, or any other topic of interest! Learn more here>

Kody works most weekdays, and can be reached at YYACoordinator@SEYMQuakers.org, or (407) 476-6214 (please note that this is a change from the previous YYAC phone number).
