Young adults (18 to about 35) from across the SEYM region (Florida, coastal Georgia and South Carolina) are invited to a weekend retreat June 3-5 at St. Petersburg Friends Meetinghouse. Program plans include workshops, worship opportunities, shared meal prep and clean-up, informal fellowship time, and lots of outdoor and beach time!
St. Petersburg Friends Meeting is located at 130 19th Ave SE, St. Petersburg, FL 33705.
This retreat is offered on a pay-as led sliding scale from $5-60 per person.
Advance registration is required. Registration opens April 20, and closes May 28. If you want to register after the May 28th deadline, or just have questions, email Kody Hersh, Youth and Young Adult Coordinator to find out if space is still available.
The retreat will begin Friday evening, with dinner available starting at 6pm and program beginning at 8pm. We will end after worship and fellowship with St. Petersburg Friends on Sunday, about noon.
St. Petersburg Friends’ main building has ADA-accessible entrances in the front and back, and ADA-accessible, gender-neutral bathrooms. Meals will be planned to accommodate dietary restrictions. Let us know any other access needs when you register, or contact email@example.com.
What should I bring?
Attendees will have the option of camping or sleeping on the meetinghouse floor. Please bring camping gear if you have it, and any bedding you will need. Optional: games, musical instruments, bathing suit, beach towels. Get in touch if you want to camp and don’t have your own gear!
Is this retreat only for Quakers?
We welcome any young adults who are excited about respectful, inclusive community and Quaker spiritual practices.
What COVID precautions will be in place?
All attendees must provide proof of full vaccination or a medical exemption. Masks will be required when indoors and in the same room with others. Physical distancing is encouraged.
