SEYM virtual meetings are on the Zoom video conferencing platform. Zoom is easy to use. You can join using your computer, mobile device, or telephone.

SEYM online events require registration. After you register, you will receive an email invitation with the information you need to join the meeting: the link, a Meeting ID, passcode, and a phone number for those dialing in.

Before the meeting

  •  Download the latest version of the Zoom app to your device.
  • Be sure your computer audio and camera are working.
  • If you have audio or camera problems, see this tutorial on testing your audio, audio settings, and troubleshooting
  • Zoom offers a free test meeting to troubleshoot your audio and video.
  • Check your surroundings. Choose a quiet space. Be aware of the background that your camera is aimed at, which we all will see.
  • Please have a place to set your device so it can remain stationary during the meeting.

  • Please become familiar with how to use attendee controls in a meeting and the menus on your device, in advance of the meeting.
  • Please stay muted if you are not speaking.
  • We see everything your camera sees, just as in face-to-face worship.
  • Eliminate distractions and focus on the meeting. Turn off notifications, close or minimize
  • running applications, and mute cell phones, streaming radio, etc.
  • Multitasking: While we’re all guilty of occasionally multitasking, in a video conference, everyone can see and hear what you’re doing. (Please save that snack for later!)
