The SEYM Child Safety Training teaches basic best practices in caring for different youth age groups. It is designed to give Friends the tools they need to create a positive program environment, prevent and recognize bullying and other inappropriate behavior, and deal with conduct problems. The training lasts about one hour.

Who is the training for? Friends who wish to help create a safe and caring community for children are welcome to attend. Monthly Meetings are encouraged to use this training for their own youth workers, and to consider taking the training as a group.

If you wish to work with youth at SEYM events, this training is one requirement for becoming an SEYM registered Youth Worker under the Child Abuse Prevention Program (CAPP). To learn more about becoming an SEYM CAPP-registered Youth Worker, see the Child Safety page.
