What could it look like to move forward in response to the Spirit’s leading, resisting the urge to trust in our own skills and capacities and instead resting in divine presence and power?

While the culture we live in promotes “sticking to our guns” when it comes to politics, justice issues, and even interpersonal dynamics and conflict, our faith calls us to be in community in order to ground into deeper discernment.

    Time for some summer fun! SEYM Friends aged 0-35ish and their parents/grandparents/guardians are invited to a family and young adult ‘beach day’ retreat on August 2, 8am – 5pm at Mary McLeod Bethune Park, 6656 Atlantic Ave., New Smyrna Beach. There’s lots to do! In addition to the beach, the park has a kayak launch, playground, picnic pavilion, and more.

It is designed to give Friends the tools they need to create a positive program environment, prevent and recognize bullying and other inappropriate behavior, and deal with conduct problems.   • Bubbling Springs: The Life & Writings of Margaret Fell

    Margaret Fell is often called “the mother of Quakerism” because of her pivotal role in establishing the Religious Society of Friends. This series of four workshops will give Friends an opportunity to learn about Margaret, spend time with some of her writings, and reflect on how she speaks to us today. Friends can sign up for one or all of the sessions.

  • Seekers Book Club Resumes October 2nd

    The Seekers Book Club will be starting a new book, "How Far Have You Traveled" by John Calvi, on Thursday, October 2nd, at 7 pm. We meet on Zoom on the first and third Thursday of every month, for about one hour, to talk about what the book brought up in each of us and to enjoy the fellowship of laughter and tenderness that is the gift of being together. The reading assignment is never more than 30 pages in two weeks and usually closer to 15-20 pages.
