The waves of our spiritual journeys come in all sizes, from the gentle lapping of a lake to breaking ocean surf. Each wave invites us into new revelation, deeper listening, seeing with new eyes, walking with faith despite the pulls of the surrounding culture. In these three online sessions, we will invite Friends into spacious times of exploration, sharing, and deepening our Quaker faith.
Join us in person or online for our Summer Executive Committee Meeting, where we will be hearing from committees and considering various issues that arise that cannot wait until fall. The EC is made up primarily of SEYM officers, clerks and committee clerks, but we welcome the participation of any SEYM Friends.
Young Adult Friends (ages 18-35) of SEYM meet virtually on fourth Fridays for fellowship, worship sharing, and discussion. This is a perfect opportunity to bring any non-Quaker friends who may be curious or any Friends wanting to build connections across our region. If you are interested, please register!
There will be a Called Yearly Business Meeting, online on August 31st, to consider DeLand Worship Group’s the request be recognized as a monthly meeting within SEYM. There will be no other items on the agenda.
Join Friends in person or online for our Fall Interim Business Meeting. We will gather at St. Petersburg Meetinghouse on Friday, October 4th for Executive Committee; and then on Saturday, October 5th we will have a Meeting Forum and committee meetings in the morning and Interim Business Meeting in the afternoon. Lunch will be provided by St. Petersburg Friends.
The SEYM Child Abuse Prevention Program (CAPP) training, which lasts about an hour, teaches basic best practices in caring for different youth age groups. It is designed to give Friends the tools they need to create a positive program environment, prevent and recognize bullying and other inappropriate behavior, and deal with conduct problems.

Friends have always known the power of the Light to search, enlighten, and change us for better. Together, we will explore stories of spiritual transformation from Friends writings and the Bible. There will be opportunities to share how the Inward Light is transforming us in similar and different ways to the stories we look at.
Half Yearly Meeting is a family-friendly serendipitous 4 days over Thanksgiving weekend when Friends come together for good food and good company in Wekiwa Springs State Park. We have exclusive use of the Youth Camp, a natural setting with rustic cabins. Enjoy swimming in the springs, canoeing and kayaking, workshops, crafts, and games.
Early Friends often sat for hours at a time in worship. In limiting our worship time to an hour or less, is the power of the experience diminished for today’s Friends? Could sitting in worship for an extended period of time deepen our worship experience? Come and see!
