At our Summer Executive Committee, Friends minuted the decision to take up Deland’s request at a called Yearly Business Meeting, rather than waiting until next Yearly Meeting annual sessions (April 2025). Deland Friends have a pressing need to be able to handle their own finances to support their very active witness in the wider community and further their outreach; and they also are at the point where they need to be able to hold and encourage membership. Deland Worship Group has been in existence for many years, and under the care of Orlando Meeting.
All Friends, Meetings, and Worship Groups are asked to read the Documents In Advance and consider Deland’s request at their meetings for business. The August 31 date was chosen in order to allow for two monthly meetings for business to discern this issue prior to the Called Yearly Business Meeting.
