Child Safety Trainings

Large meeting of Friends
The SEYM Child Safety Training teaches basic best practices in caring for different youth age groups. It is designed to give Friends the tools they need to create a positive program environment, prevent and recognize bullying and other inappropriate behavior, and deal with conduct problems. The training lasts about one hour.

Who is the training for? Friends who wish to help create a safe and caring community for children are welcome to attend. Monthly Meetings are encouraged to use this training for their own youth workers, and to consider taking the training as a group. And if you wish to work with youth at SEYM events, this training is one requirement for becoming an SEYM registered Youth Worker under the Child Abuse Prevention Program (CAPP).

CAPP Coordinator Cheryl Demers-Holton is offering these Child Abuse protection trainings online to individuals or groups October and November:

  • Wednesday August 27th at 6:30 pm
  • Saturday August 30th at 9:00 am
  • Wednesday September 10th at 6:30 pm
  • Saturday September 13th at 9:00 am

Can’t make it on any of these days? No problem! Just let Cheryl know and she can set up another time that works best for you or your group. If you have any questions, please email Cheryl.
